The GrEAT Resignation
The story of 2021 was not “The Great Resignation”.
In many ways the working world had stagnated in the decade or so following the 2008 financial crisis. Employee engagement was at an all time low. The pandemic woke a lot of people up to what was truly important in life and one of the top answers was a meaningful career. What commentators refer to as The Great Resignation can also be looked upon as the great awakening of the workforce.
embracing reality
"It is what it is" may not sound helpful in a challenging situation but it might just be the attitude we need. Too often we are tempted to wish things were different and that gets in the way.
When we hear someone say "it is what it is", let's take it fully on board, let go of the past and get on with building the future.
High performance psychology
The world of sports has been revolutionized by psychologists. How long before psychologists make an impact in the professions?
Every professional role is a performance. We perform best when we are psychologically prepared and emotionally controlled.
